Our History

Group acquires UV Light Technology, a leading manufacturer of UV light equipment combining performance and safety. Bringing strong synergies and growth potential as part of the Daro-Intellego Group.
Daro Group manufacturing capabilities for the communications industry; Daro Connectivity is incorporated into Daro Manufacturing Services
Daro Group is acquired by Intellego-Technologies AB, striving to become the first choice for customers by building a leading UV and specialist lighting company with exceptional manufacturing capabilities.
Daro Group and all of its companies undergo a brand refresh to reflect the development of the company and breadth of services now offered. The logo was designed to showcase our decades of experience as a trusted and agile British manufacturing and assembly services provider. As part of the rebrand Daro Fibre Products is renamed Daro Connectivity and Daro Products is renamed Daro Manufacturing Services.
Group buys Watersavers. Specialists in flow rate and pressure monitoring water leak detection solutions, valves & PIR controls, legionella prevention solutions and urinal controls. Fits the Daro Group key acquisition criteria and has clear identifiable synergies with Daro UV Systems.
Our purpose-built, controlled environment, electrical assembly facility opens.

A partnership is launched to deliver certified and validated water disinfection solutions to the UK municipal and industrial water treatment markets.

Daro Group is given critical supplier status during the Covid-19 pandemic and remains operational throughout.
Daro Specialist Lighting formed as a platform for expansion and incorporates Light Years Ahead providing an expanded range of products for the custodial and mental healthcare markets.
Group buys Light Years Ahead – specialist anti-ligature and vandal-resistant luminaires for custodial, mental healthcare and civil sectors.

Group forms new company Daro Fibre Products with industry experts in connectivity for the ever-growing demands of communication networks and takes Group to a team of 45.
Manufacturing Services acquires dedicated stand-alone fabrication and welding facility.
Daro UV Systems moves to a purpose-built production and warehouse facility.
Daro Group established to deal with growing company structure – 25 staff.
Companies accommodate 25,000 ft of production and office space.

Daro UV Systems is established.
Daro Products, a multi-offering manufacturing business, is established from a management buyout of UV Systems that has 10 staff.

Meet The Team

Mervyn Douglas

Managing Director

Mervyn joined Daro in 2016 bringing 20 years’ experience in business and finance. His role is to lead the strategic direction of Daro, managing continuous investment in resources to enable people, businesses and the group to achieve their long-term objectives.

Sarah Pennock

Sarah Pennock

Finance Director

Sarah is Group finance director and a qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountant (CIMA). Since joining Daro in 2004 Sarah’s role has continuously developed to now overseeing group finance and human resources.

Matt Pilgrim - QHSE Lead

Matt Pilgrim


Matt joined Daro in 2021, bringing 19 years’ engineering experience and leads Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental standards across the Group. Matt is NEBOSH and IOSH qualified, ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 31000 trained as well as holding a Green Belt in Six Sigma.

Becky Bishop

Management Accountant

Becky joined Daro Group in 2022, bringing 16 years of accountancy experience with her. Becky’s primary role is overseeing the management accounts across the group. Her excellent organisational skills, methodical working processes and very approachable nature make her excellently suited to the role.

Rachel Miles

Finance Assistant and
Business Support

Rachel joined Daro in 2017. In addition to making our customers, suppliers and visitors feel very welcome she assists with the accounts and works closely with all of the business divisions where needed.
